Important Points To Remember While Buying Men’S Suit
Getting the right fit for a suit and having it tailored is rather important. The first thing you should see is that you get yourself properly measured. This includes neck, shoulders, sleeves, chest, waist and inseam. Once you know your size you will face fewer problems. If you go in for shopping, do keep certain things in mind.
Choosing the fabric: First thing to remember when you buy a men’s suit is the fabric that is used for the suit. Wool is one of the fabrics liked by men because it is durable, breathes well and gives a great look. There are four kinds of wool like the Tweed, Flannel, Tropical and Worsted. Tweed is a very heavy wool fabric which gives a more mature look. Stay away from tweed, if you have added a few extra pounds. Flannel is the heaviest of non tweed wools but it may be a bit too hot in most office environments. It’s not an ideal fabric for a suit. Tropical is a wood crepe which is mostly worn in summer. Being lightweight fabric, may lead to wrinkles, and therefore requires frequent visits to a dry-cleaner. This is also not an ideal suit fabric. Worsted wool is considered best bet for a suit. They are durable, wear well and usually fine for year round wear.
Fit of your trousers: When wearing a trouser see to it that you can stick two fingers into the waist. Pleats are good for people who have larger tummies and not for those who are thin. This is done because a flat front trouser accentuate your tummy if you have one and pleats help cover it up. Trousers come in different style and cuts like jeans, chinos, cargo, formal and casual. There are various options like with or without pleats or turn ups.
Hem: Width of the hem is very important for the style of the trouser. Correct length of your trouser is a very important factor for a good appearance. A trouser which is a little bit too long is better than a too short one. Cuffs look better on someone with long legs.
See to it that your sleeve’s length is right. If the sleeve covers your shirt cuff, it is too long. It should just reach the base of your thumb, revealing a half inch to an inch of your shirt cuff.
Jacket should fit easily across your stomach. Many Americans wear wearing two buttons suit for many years but the trend has changed. They now prefer wearing suit jackets which have three and four buttons. Whether you choose a classic or modern suit, look for fitted waistlines that enhance the shape of your body.
